COMPARE
OTHER SIPS VS. SIPSTAR® BUILDING PANELS
SIPStar® panels contain high-density EPS - polystyrene foam cores, instead
of polyurethane, to provide a higher, maintained insulating or "R" value; no "off-gassing"
which reduces effective insulating values over time.
Ordinary SIP joints may fail, allowing interior moisture to migrate under OSB clad panels, causing
mold, rotting, and structural deterioration. SIPStar® panel joints are field-installed
with structural splines, bonded along the entire length of each panel, then fitted with batten strips
to finish and waterproof each vertical joint between panels.
Inherently insect and rodent-proof, SIPStar® panels are treated during manufacture
to deter insect or rodent intrusion - or burrowing into the foam cores.
SIPStar® ceramic-cement bonded skins are ready to receive stucco, paint, dry
vitreous-sprayed coatings, or any other desired field-applied finish. No other exterior finish
is necessary.
SIPStar® panels are highly scuff-resistant, mar-resistant, and weatherproof,
according to independent laboratory tests by the ASTM C 799 "Standard Test Method for Abrasion
Resistance of Horizontal Concrete Surfaces."
SIPStar® panels are considerably lower cost per square foot than precast concrete
panels or mansonry units
